Golden Vajra Art Guild
The Golden Vajra Art Guild was founded in 1996 by noted thangka painter Glen Eddy (1941-2006), under the direction of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu. During his life, Eddy produced hundreds of works on paper and several large scale thangka paintings according to the traditional Tibetan techniques.
From 1996-1999, Glen produced a large-scale Refuge thangka of Guru Rinpoche and another work of Ekajati, primary guardian of the Dzogchen lineages. In the Fall of 2000, he completed a work called "Primordial Masters," another large-scale thangka commissioned by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu and funded through the Shang Shung Institute of America. Glen's final project for the Institute was a major painting of Goma Devi and the Vajra Dance lineage under the auspices of the Shang Shung Institute in Conway, Massachusetts beginning in the summer of 2001. Each of these paintings are 3 feet by 5 feet in size.
These works are on display at the Shang Shung Institute of America, and high quality reproductions are available through the SSI-USA Bookstore. Please email the bookstore at shop-us@shangshung.org for more details.
